Crafted from the seeds of the neem tree, neem oil is a natural insecticide that can safely be used on your plants to kill off certain types of fungus or mildews and prevent the infestation of insects such as aphids, gnats, and mites. Neem oil works as an insecticide because it inhibits an insect’s ability to feed and breed, eventually killing them off, all while being non-toxic to the plants and soil it is applied to.
To use neem oil as an insecticide, combine a few drops of neem oil into a spray bottle of water and a small amount of mild dish soap (this emulsifies the mixture).
Shake well to mix and then spray your neem oil blend onto the tops and bottoms of plant leaves and around the soil of your plant. Reapply every seven days to treat insect infestations and protect your plants from future re-infestation.
